2012 Preparation ~ Getting Scientific

Picture
After ripping the deck off the block two years in a row, it is obvious that the Fast Four block just doesn't have the strength to handle the cylinder pressure the blower adds to the equation.  Fortunately, the SCTA has revised the V4F rules to allow additonal head studs for just this reason.  So the plan for 2102 includes:
1. Finding more 1928 Dodge Fast Four blocks
2. Properly interpreting the new SCTA rules and adding additional head studs.
3. Committing the time and money to refine port flow and combustion chamber design.
4. Lower the chassis 2" to improve aerodynamics.

Picture
The Dodge Boys head to sunny California to pick up a few Fast Four blocks, deliver a Model A to Earl EDGY Edgerton, & take a couple flathead Caddy motors to our buddy Gig in Pismo Beach.

...and how about this way cool spark plug collection!

After 3 trips to California, we finally got the new cylinder head patterns, ported blocks, and revised combustion chambers back to Montana at the end of May

The naturally aspirated split-port six made 200 RWHP on the chassis dyno while were there.

Hundreds of hours went into flow and port work this Winter. The end result was a drastic increase in air flow ~ from 122 to 189 CFM per cylinder over our 2010 ports
Picture
Speaking of uber-rare ~ How about a Roof four valve OHV cylinder head for a 1928 Dodge?!?!
